We still see Evangelical Gnosticism today. I was having conversations with friends about big church organizations being influenced by things of this world. What it has caused is divisions within its own church. It made me realize that this church had been discipled by the nations because the were no discipling nations.

It’s interesting thought of how the Bible was only accessible to those who’s vocation was thought of as divine. Martin Luther, through the reform, made it possible for all nations to have access to the word of God.

Evangelical Gnosticism has made the church separate the sacred from our daily lives. It affects how people view biblical truths and secularism and how they can keep them separate. If we fall into this, our church will not be able to impact our societies. We would tell them that the Lord only cares about their attendance on Sundays or during Bible study, but that everything else doesn’t matter to the Lord. We are preaching a false gospel and we are only caring about filling the inside of the church but not fulfilling the great commission.

Access to the Bible was the most important legacy the reformation left. Instead of having someone else tell us what it says we all now have access to it.

If we are believers of Jesus then we must proclaim His name. That is the priesthood of all believers. We must carry his presence in everything we do. Everything we do is for His glory and should be done as an act of worship for him. «And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men» Col 3:23

            Sister Perla,
You’re right we must first reach our communities. The only thing is that because we fail to be a missional church, we only stay in Jerusalem and not go out to Samaria, Judea, or to the ends of the world. If we only focus inward, it’s going to be difficult for the church to grasp the mission.

              Amen sister,
Making disciples is what takes the message of reconciliation all over the world. If the church fails to make disciples, we will not fulfill the great commission. I agree with you, a missional church has one purpose and that is for the whole world to know Him.

                Sister PDC,
I truly believe that our church has to have a system in which we win souls. RCM has been a blessing to our local church. But talking about missional churches we have been focused on bringing people in and not sending people out. Our churches get fatter and more full, but is our community being impacted by the message we are preaching?

A missional church, to me, is a church that is centered around God’s mission. The mission is to fulfill the great commission and make his name known to the world. A missional church does not make the mission part of what it does, the mission is what the church does. Our church, with RCM, must take advantage of the focus we are putting in winning souls and also think about the impact that it could have on completing the mission. We become focused on accomplishing goals within the church, which is not a bad thing, but we forget the true mission of making his name known to the world.
