A missional church, to me, is a church that is centered around God’s mission. The mission is to fulfill the great commission and make his name known to the world. A missional church does not make the mission part of what it does, the mission is what the church does. Our church, with RCM, must take advantage of the focus we are putting in winning souls and also think about the impact that it could have on completing the mission. We become focused on accomplishing goals within the church, which is not a bad thing, but we forget the true mission of making his name known to the world.

To me, a Missional Church, is a church that knows their God-given identity and purpose. Knowing both of these things, will further allow us to fulfill God’s mission in and for the world. It is more than just being part of a specific ministry and is more focused on the actual mission itself. A missional church may have diverse ministries operating within, however, the mission continues to be the same for all: spreading the gospel & saving souls. We are to use our ministry to fulfill the mission, without losing sight of the end-goal.

A missional church, in my understanding, is a church primarily focused on fulfilling God’s mission, as Jesus Christ instructed in Matthew 28:19-20. If Jesus Christ, as the head of the body, gave us this commandment, then it should be the central focus of a missional church, as we are the body of Christ. For example, the system we follow in our church helps us understand the management of this concept: Win, Consolidate, Disciple. Winning souls involves preaching God’s word with love, consolidation ensures that new believers remain strong in their faith and grow in their relationship with God, and discipleship equips them to become leaders who, in turn, disciple others. When this ongoing cycle continues in a missional church, it results in the expansion of God’s kingdom.

PtL brother! I liked that you mentioned: «A missional church does not make the mission part of what it does, the mission is what the church does». Sometimes we fall into the idea that as long as we are serving in some type of way, we are being obedient to God’s call. However, His call is for us all is be to aligned with His mission of winning people around the world. Every ministry is important, but we must not forget that ministries need to work together toward God’s mission.

PtL sister! I am in total agreement with your response. If as a church we are able to effectively follow the processes of winning, consolidating, and discipling people; we would indeed be contributing to God’s mission. The keywords here are «ongoing cycle», as you mentioned. If every soul that has been won, would join the mission to win more souls, all nations would come to know and serve our God in a heartbeat. As the church, we are given a commandment from God himself, to which we have no other choice than to obey, simply because of how much we treasure and appreciate what He has done for us first. It is with gratitude and love that we should answer his call to disciple all nations, one soul at a time.

For the sake of debate…how will we know as a church if we are accomplishing the mission if we don’t set goals? I believe Jesus set goals to the disciples when He said to reach Jerusalem, then Samaria, then the ends of the earth.

To me a missional church is a church that doesn’t make the Mission part of what it does, but it is what they do. We as missional church live and breathe winning souls to the Lords army. He has equipped us to conquer and take over the strongholds the enemy has placed not only to our loved ones, friends and neighbors but also, to our brothers far away overseas. His Holy Spirit has empowered us to fulfill our mission within the great commission that the has given. He is the Head of the body. We are his body. May we be the church that edifies. May we be his heart and soul, his arms, feet, his heart and soul.

To me, a missional church are the christ believers that understand their primary purpose which is fulfilling God’s mission. and that we understand how we are supposed to live in this world, meaning that we always have to remember who we are and who we stand with. We are different, like brother Abraham mentioned yesterday, we are the salt of the world, we are that seasoning that gives flavor to the world and it tells us that in Mathew 5:13.
But what we need primarily is to learn to obey God and not be wise in our own understanding. -

PDC Brother Jorge!
I agree with your thoughts when you said «We become focused on accomplishing goals within the church, which is not a bad thing, but we forget the true mission of making his name known to the world.»
As you say, it is not bad to focus on the goals of our church, but we do tend to forget about the vision and mission that God sent us and this can be a great reminder that maybe we are not fully evangelizing outside because of a certain reason only God knows but we can start of with small gestures that can make a big impact like they say «its the little things that matter». We can start at our jobs, schools, where we go shopping, handing out cards with our church location and days that we have service, starting a small conversation and letting know that they have a living God that loves them, you don’t know how much they are struggling and maybe they needed to hear that. But always pray to God and ask him for guidance. -

Missional church is the group of believers that have centered everything they do to fullfiling God’s command of discipling or reconciling the world with Him. They understand that the resources, gifts, talents are used for that purpose alone. Making disciples implies evangelizing, equiping the new believer with God’s word to give them roots in the Gospel, and teaching them to use their God given gifts and talents to take the mission to the ends of the earth. A missional church is people working as one with one sole purpose in mind…reach every soul with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A missional church, to me, is one that understands its core purpose is to actively participate in God’s mission of spreading His message and saving souls. The mission is not just an addition to the church’s activities, but it defines the church’s entire existence. The church doesn’t just do mission work; it is mission work. This means that everything the church does from ministries, outreach programs , to individual relationships should be rooted in the goal of sharing the gospel and discipling others.
A missional church recognizes that all disciples are called to be ambassadors of Christ, and that fulfilling the Great Commission is not an optional part of being a disciple, but its very foundation. A missional church is not only focused on internal goals or growth but is constantly thinking outwardly—how can we reach the lost? How can we make disciples who will continue this cycle and make more disciples to expand God’s kingdom?

PDC sister Perla, I really liked how you pointed out that a missional church focuses on fulfilling God’s command to disciple and reconcile the world to Him. It’s a good reminder that our gifts and resources are meant to help spread the gospel. I also agree that making disciples isn’t just about evangelizing it’s about helping believers grow in their faith and share the mission with others. When we work together with that same goal, we can truly reach more people with the message of Christ.

PDC, I really appreciate your perspective on what it means to be a missional church. You’re absolutely right; it’s not just something we do occasionally; it’s who we are. I love how you emphasized that winning souls should be at the core of everything we do. God has equipped us through His Holy Spirit to break strongholds and fulfill the Great Commission. As His body, we each have a role to play in building up the church and reflecting His love, but it’s also everyone’s responsibility to spread the gospel.

Sister PDC,
I truly believe that our church has to have a system in which we win souls. RCM has been a blessing to our local church. But talking about missional churches we have been focused on bringing people in and not sending people out. Our churches get fatter and more full, but is our community being impacted by the message we are preaching? -
23 febrero, 2025 a las 10:43 pm #378034
Amen sister,
Making disciples is what takes the message of reconciliation all over the world. If the church fails to make disciples, we will not fulfill the great commission. I agree with you, a missional church has one purpose and that is for the whole world to know Him. -
23 febrero, 2025 a las 10:45 pm #378035
Sister Perla,
You’re right we must first reach our communities. The only thing is that because we fail to be a missional church, we only stay in Jerusalem and not go out to Samaria, Judea, or to the ends of the world. If we only focus inward, it’s going to be difficult for the church to grasp the mission. -
24 febrero, 2025 a las 9:14 pm #378038
To be a mission church is to be a church that is involved with the command. God gave us in Matthew 19 and we should be at the body of Christ, which means that we should all work with one another because we are all of one body and Christ is our head meaning that Christ has the ideas and we should follow the call of the ideas that God has and so by doing those things we will be using and be blessed with gifts which we can use to fulfill the mission that God has for us more for his honor and for his glory but if we are not fulfilling, the mission God has for us we are not fulfilling the things he has for us to do but also we are not using the materials. God has given us to their fulfillment which at the end of the day means we are not being true church. We are not being a mission church..

For an Apostolic believer, the missional church is more than a concept—it’s a lived expression of our faith, mirroring the early church in Acts. We see ourselves as extensions of the original apostles, commissioned to carry the Pentecostal fire and the full gospel message to every corner of our society. This means actively engaging with our communities, not just preaching from a pulpit, but demonstrating the love of Christ through tangible acts of compassion, healing, and deliverance. Our worship is charismatic and spirit-filled, empowering us to go beyond the four walls of the church to impact lives, making disciples, and planting churches that reflect the dynamic, life-changing power of the Holy Spirit. We strive to embody the Apostolic mandate of signs, wonders, and miracles, confirming the word and drawing people into a genuine encounter with the living God, just like in the book of Acts.

The concept of a Missional Church refers to a church that sees itself as being sent into the world to actively participate in God’s mission. Rather than being just a place where people gather for worship and teaching, a missional church prioritizes outreach, service, and engagement with the surrounding community. It emphasizes living out the Gospel in everyday life, forming relationships, and addressing social and spiritual needs. Instead of expecting people to come to the church, a missional church goes to the people, embodying Christ’s love and message beyond its walls.

A missional church is a community of believers who see themselves as sent by God to share His love and truth with the world. Instead of just focusing on gathering for worship, a missional church actively engages with its community, living out the Gospel in everyday life. I understand that this means being intentional in serving others, building relationships, and making disciples beyond the church walls. It’s not just about attending services but about carrying out God’s mission in our workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods. A true missional church reflects Jesus through actions, love, and truth, making an impact wherever we go.

Praise the Lord Brother Jorge,
Well said! A truly missional church doesn’t just include the mission as one of its activities—it is the mission. I love how you emphasized the importance of keeping our focus on making God’s name known rather than just internal goals. RCM has a great opportunity to impact lives, and staying centered on the Great Commission will ensure we’re truly fulfilling God’s purpose. Thanks for sharing this powerful reminder

Praise the Lord Brother Angel,
This is such a powerful perspective! I love how you emphasized that the church isn’t just something that does mission work—it is mission work. It’s a great reminder that every disciple is called to be an ambassador of Christ, and spreading the Gospel isn’t just a part of what we do, but the very foundation of our faith. Keeping an outward focus and prioritizing disciple-making is so important. Thanks for sharing this

Praise the Lord Brother Obiel! I really love how you emphasized the importance of not just focusing on gathering for worship but to actively engage ourselves actively in our community, and living out the Gospel in everyday life. In every part of our lives we need to show and share God’s love by sharing the Gospel. If we continue to impact we will surely win souls for the Kingdom of Heaven!

Praise the Lord Bro Contreras, yes we are chosen to be sent into the world to preach salvation! Instead of waiting for all the souls to come to church, as a missional church we actually prioritize and become involved and go out into the community to address the social and spiritual needs! We enbody God’s love and live out the Gospel beyond the four walls!

The concept of a missional church challenges traditional church models by shifting the focus from attracting people to church events to actively engaging in the world. Unlike «attractional» churches that implore people to «come to us,» missional churches embrace incarnation, going onto other people’s territory to share God’s love in word and deed. This involves demonstrating God’s love through actions, seeking to earn the right to speak about Christ in the world, and integrating faith into every aspect of life. This approach questions the Constantinian tradition of churches that treat all citizens as default members, instead prioritizing active participation in God’s mission as a core aspect of their identity.
